Abstract
The Homemaker Service of South Australia has expanded and developed significantly since its modest beginnings in May, 1975. This paper looks at the perceived need for the service and describes how it was set up. The early development of the scheme and changes that have evolved are presented; finally there is a consideration of where the Homemaker Service is now heading.
