Pages 35-43 | Accepted 01 Oct 1998, Published online: 01 Feb 2008

Abstract

This article presents a brief summary of a recent research investigation into the contribution of welfare members to processes of administrative review in Australia, and identifies a series of research and ethical issues which arose in the course of developing and implementing an appropriate methodology. The paper incorporates examples of how in this research methodological difficulties were resolved, and how the inevitable intrusions into the anticipated research landscape were managed.
