A Constrained Joint Setup Cost Inventory Model

Abstract

IIn this paper, a method is proposed for solving the joint setup cost inventory problem with constrained warehouse space availability. The basic assumptions for the system under consideration are instantaneous replenishment of stock and no backorders. The distributions of the individual demand occurrences are unknown and are not restricted to any specific form; however, an estimate of the total planning horizon demand for each product is required. Two problems which were generated from actual industrial data and a third problem, a Poisson demand model with a queueing description of the system's operation, are analysed.

Dans ce papier on propose une technique de solution pour le problème d’inventaire avec coût de préparation technique et avec espace d’entreposage réduit. Le réapprovisionnement instantanné et l’interdiction de retard dans la livraison constituent les deux hypothèses de base. La distribution des instances de demande est inconnue et aucune restriction sur sa forme n’est spécifiée; toutefois, on doit fournir une estimation de la période au cours de laquelle les instances de demande peuvent survenir, et ce pour chacun des produits. Trois problèmes sont analysés. Deux ont formulés à partir de données industrielles. Le troisième est un modèle où la demande suit une distribution Poiss on et où l’exploitation du système est décrite à l’aide d’une file d’attente.
