An Optimal Solution For Scheduling Of Printing And BindingFootnote

Pages 164-168 | Received 22 Aug 1975, Published online: 25 May 2016

Abstract

A solution is presented for the scheduling of printing and binding of a book order when it is found that it is costly to leave the binder idle and a deadline has to be met for the distribution of the book order. The approach used is to split the printing of some of the parts into two portions so that the binder can begin binding earlier. A worked example is given.

L’approche utilisée consiste à séparer l’impression des différentes section en deux parties, de façon à ce que le relieur puisse commencer le reliage plus tôt. Un example concret est donné.
