D.G. Mulcahy is the Connecticut State University Professor and Professor in the School of Education and Professional Studies at Central Connecticut State University. He is the author of Curriculum and Policy in Irish Post-primary Education (IAP, 1981) and more recently The Educated Person (Rowman & Littlefield, 2008).

Denis O'Sullivan is an Emeritus Professor of Education at University College Cork. He has taught at all levels of Irish education. His research focuses on the sociology of education, adult and community education and education policy studies. His most recent book is Cultural Politics and Irish Education since the 1950s: Policy Paradigms and Power (Institute of Public Administration, 2005).
