Banks and the birth of industry in seven countries

Pages 186-188 | Published online: 20 Dec 2011

Abstract

This work is a study in comparative economic history, consisting mainly of a number of individual investigations into the industrial development and financial structure of selected countries. On this empirical basis Rondo Cameron and his collaborators attempt to analyse systematically the effect of the role played by banks and other credit institutions on early industrial growth.
