The coins of Tranquebar

Abstract

One of the charms of numismatics is that contributions are often made by people like the author of this book whose main occupations lie in quite different fields: he is a librarian at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver. For some years he has taken an interest in the coinage of the Danish Colony of Tranqucbar in India, and because of the lack of modern reference works, the most recent of which is Chr. Funck-Rasmussen, Beskrivelse af danske Monter fra Trankebar 1620-1845, (Copenhagen, 1948), 75 pp., he has set out to write one himself.
