Development of the Danish agrarian society 1500–1800

Pages 180-182 | Published online: 20 Dec 2011

Abstract

This study completes a comprehensive and uniquely systematic contribution to the history of Danish agriculture. It eminently reflects Skrubbeltrang's lifelong dedication to research and his firm grasp of highly complex social conditions. Justly and ‘with modest selfassurance’ (his own phrase in characterising C. D. Reventlow) he emphasises that the presentation ‘is more firmly based and includes more statistical data than previous accounts’ and should therefore ‘provide a more finely shaded picture of society.’
