ABSTRACT

The study aimed to identify the relationship between social inclusion and life satisfaction among Turkish older people. The data were gathered from 350 older adults selected through convenience sampling method in Turkey using Demographic Information Form, Social Inclusion Scale (SIS) and Satisfaction with Life (SWLS). Regression analysis was performed to determine the variables affecting life satisfaction. The regression analysis results revealed that as social inclusion and the duration of marriage increased, so did life satisfaction in older people. Such variables as age, gender, education level, number of children, living arrangement, amount of income, social media use, and health perception were not found to be significant in terms of life satisfaction of the older people in the presence of social inclusion and the duration of marriage.
