Abstract

This article studies interval estimation of the population mean in ranked set sampling. Eight types of confidence intervals are considered which are based on asymptotic theory, resampling methods, or a combination of them. A comprehensive simulation study is conducted to investigate performance of these intervals, and to deal with some limitations of a relevant work in the literature. Lastly, a data example is presented to illustrate the procedures.
