Properties of Reliability Functions of Discrete Distributions

Abstract

In this article, we discuss the reliability functions, namely, the failure rate, mean residual life function and the variance residual life function, for discrete variables. Their monotonicity and relationships are investigated. Similar functions for the past life are considered. The hazard rates and the reversed hazard rates for the series and parallel systems are also considered.
