Normal approximation to the distribution of a cell entry in a 2×2×2 contingency table

Abstract

An asymptotic normal approximation to the distribution of a call entry in 2×2×2 contingency tables with all marginal totals fixed is obtained and then applied to construct a confidence interval for the 3-factor interaction parameter in such tables. Examples illustrating the accuracy of the approximation and of calculating confidence intervals for the parameter are given.
