Abstract
Communications in Statistics began publishing in 1972 as a journal for the statistics professiun. One of its major goals is to provide timely publication of papers without sacrificing quality. The purpose of this article is to present data accumulated primarily from 1973 to 1976 on submissions, the time from submission to publication, and characteristics of published papers in Communications in Statistics, One of the striking features uncovered in the analysis of this data is that the journal is clearly meeting the goal of rapid publication of acceptable papers.
