Estimating the sum of two ratios of parameters and an application¹

Abstract

An asymptotic confidence interval for estimating the sum of two ratios of parameters is derived. Test statistics for the same are also proposed. The results presented are discussed with the help of a simulation study for some selected values of various parameters. Finally, an application of these results in intercropping experiments is described.
