ABSTRACT
This paper describes the application of optimal tracking methods to identify the parameters of an induction motor. The data required can be obtained by conducting an acceleration test on an unloaded motor. The effect of the saturation of the leakage flux paths as well as the skin effect in rotor bars have been considered. The parameters of the motor thus identified can then be used to obtain any required characteristics of the motor.
