ABSTRACT

In the first: part, the authors develop a numerical method for determining the magnetic vector potential of a rotating multipolar current wave, using a special function that generalizes the elliptical integrals used traditionally to calculate the vector potential of a homopolar wave. They then apply this result to the determination of the currents induced in a discoid rotor rotating uniformly in the rotating vector potential of a three-phase excitation winding. They go on to plot the descriptive curve for the cyclic impedance of this asynchronous machine as a function of slip
