ABSTRACT

In this paper, a mathematical model of a three-phase, symmetrical induction motor in phase axes is developed. The model is suitable for investigation of the motor transient phenomena when fed from a balanced three-phase source of any shape and frequency. The p.u. differential equations are presented in the state space, with a view to simulation on a digital computer. Equivalent circuits of the motor for transient conditions are presented. Various transient effects including disconnection and reclosing were investigated, and simulation results are reported
