Abstract
During the summer of 1973, SCA sponsored four regional institutes for secondary teachers of speech communication. This article reports on the design of one of these institutes and discusses the results of several evaluation methods used to assess the effects of the institute. The program was adjudged an overall success by participants, and the part emphasizing the teaching of interpersonal communication was perceived as especially valuable. Recommendations are offered to assist future institute directors.
