Exploring student rights in speech communication classes

Pages 47-52 | Published online: 18 May 2009

Abstract

Speech communication teachers create a special environment in their classrooms which often encourages both vulnerability and potential for growth. Such an environment demands our consideration of the interpersonal rights of students interacting with us. To aid such consideration, this article presents a rationale, a suggested class activity, and a sample “bill of rights” for speech communication students.
