Viel wind um nichts? forschungen zur winderosion in Brandenburg: Much wind about nothing? wind erosion research in Brandenburg

Abstract

This paper presents results of long-term measurements of wind erosion in Brandenburg. Although considerable amounts of material can be transported, the perception of wind erosion in the field site is difficult. Already investigations of Chepil (1960) showed the possibility of annual soil losses up to 40 t/ha without any visible signs of the erosion process. Therefore a main task were the quantification to get reliable data of soil losses by wind erosion in Brandenburg. Meanwhile, data of 10 years of measurements were collected. Some of the most interesting results will be presented in this paper. Data are also used to validate the Wind Erosion Prediction System in Germany.

Dieser Beitrag stellt Ergebnisse langjähriger Messungen der Winderosion in Brandenburg vor. Trotz der erheblichen Mengen, die durch Winderosion umgelagert werden können, fällt die Wahrnehmung der Prozesse im Feld recht schwer. Bereits Untersuchungen von Chepil (1960) zeigten, dass jährliche Bodenabträge von bis zu 40 t/ha möglich sind, ohne dass es zu deutlich sichtbaren Erscheinungen im Feld kommt. Ein Schwerpunkt der Winderosionsforschung lag deshalb zunächst darauf, verlässliche Werte über Bodenverlagerungen durch Wind in Brandenburg zu erhalten. Inzwischen liegen Messwerte über 10 Jahre hinweg vor, von denen die wichtigsten Ergebnisse hier vorgestellt werden sollen. Im Rahmen des Soil Erosion Networks innerhalb des GCTE – Programms (Global Change and Terrestrial Ecosystems) dienten die erhobenen Daten der Validierung und der ersten Anwendung des Wind Erosion Prediction Systems in Deutschland.
