Abstract
The combined fertilization with manure or straw and mineral‐N had a significant influence on the Corg content of soil, but mineral‐N fertilization alone did not result in increase yet, in the period of time examined. High rates of N‐fertilizer, above the optimum, combined with straw manuring can result in nitrate accumulation peaks, which showed a tendency of moving downwards, which is probably due to leaching. The results showed that at N‐rates above 150 kg/ha an additional N‐fertilization for straw decomposition is unnecessary, the remaining nitrate in soil will be leached anyway. Farmyard manuring did not produce excessive nitrate accumulation, not even at the highest N‐doses. Although the amount of ammonium‐N is significant (about a half of the amount of nitrate) and has a seasonal change, the organic and mineral fertilization does not have any significant effect on the ammonium content of soil profile.
