Zusammenfassung
Summary
1. | The changes of the amount of dissolved organic nitrogen and total phosphorus in the water of ponds during the warm half of the year and means for different years are much smaller than the changes in the amount of nannoseston during the year and in different years. Productivity of ponds is not in direct relationship to the amount of phosphorus and nitrogen present in water.
2. | The mean standing crop of zooplankton during the warm half of the year has been found to be quite unaffected by different fish stocking of ponds and the mean content of organic nitrogen present in zooplankton averages about 10% of organic and ammonia nitrogen present in water and particulate matter smaller than 50 μ.
3. | Ponds comparable in the amount of organic N and total P have increased mean amount of nannoseston with increased fishstock.
4. | Smaller species of pelagic Cladocera (Daphnia hyalina, D. cucullata, Diaphanosoma, Bosmina) take place of larger species (Daphnia pulex s. 1. and D. longispina s. 1.) with increased fishstock.
5. | The influence of different fishstock on nanno- and zooplankton is considered to be a manifestation of increased turnover of organic matter caused by increased fishstocking. |
