Acclimatation du Sandre (Sander lucioperca L.) dans les eaux françaises

Résumé

Le Sandre (Sander lucioperca L.) n'existait pas en France au début du XXe siècle. Il apparaît vers 1910 dans le Rhin et dans le canal du Rhône au Rhin. Il atteint le Doubs vers 1915, la Saône vers 1920, le Rhône vers 1932. En 1948, le Sandre envahit les eaux saumâtres de l'étang du Vaccarès (6500 ha, salinité de 2 à 7 g/l) où il devient très abondant.

Egalement à partir du Rhin, il progresse dans l'Est de la France par le canal de la Marne au Rhin et, à la suite d'alevinages effectués en 1942, il colonise les canaux, rivières et étangs de Lorraine.

A partir de 1950, des introductions artificielles très importantes sont effectuées dans les rivières et dans les eaux closes de toute la France. Des cartes montrent l'aire de répartition en 1950, 1962 et 1971.

Actuellement, le Sandre est acclimaté dans tous les bassins fluviaux où il occupe les cours d'eau cyprino-esocicoles constituant les zones à Barbeau et à Brème. Il est également présent dans de mombreux lacs de France, dont trois lacs artificiels de Corse.

Summary

The pike-perch (Sander lucioperca L.) was not to be found in France at the beginning of the XXth century. It made its appearance about 1910 in the Rhine and the canal from the Rhine to the Rhône. It reached the Doubs about 1915, the Saône about 1920 and the Rhône about 1932. In 1948 the pike-perch invaded the brackish waters of the Etang du Vaccarès (6500 ha, salinity 2 to 7 g/l) where it has become very abundant.

Starting likewise from the Rhine, it passed into the East of France along the canal from the Rhine to the Marne and after stocking with young fish had been carried out in 1942, it colonised the canals, rivers and ponds of the Lorraine.

From 1950 onwards, considerable stocking was carried out to bring the pike-perch into rivers and ponds throughout the whole of France. Maps show the areas covered in 1950, 1962 and 1971.

The pike-perch is now acclimatized in all the river basins, where it occupies the carp-and-pike streams that constitute the barbel and bream regions. It is also present in a large number of lakes in France including 3 artificial lakes in Corsica.
