Spatial variation in size and reproductive cycle of Limnocalanus macrurus in a deep, subarctic lake, Great Slave Lake

With 12 figures and 1 table in the text

Pages 150-158 | Published online: 01 Dec 2017

Summary

Lake morphometry appeared to be the most significant single factor correlated with the complex spatial distribution of Limnocalanus macrurus in Great Slave Lake. The youngest development stage of the population, the highest number of animals and the smallest size of females were found in the deepest (614 m) Christie Bay.

Possible mechanisms of these relationships were discussed.
