Summary

The positive correlations of δ13C values and organic carbon contents with fossil diatom cell numbers and with the palynological climate could be found through the study of Lake Biwa sediments. And finally, it can be concluded that the δ13C record of sedimentary organic materials is one of the sensitive indicator for the past climatic change.
