A model to calculate surface energy fluxes from routine meteorological data. Application to Lake Banyoles

Pages 88-90 | Published online: 01 Dec 2017

Summary

In this paper, the net heat flux on the surface of lake Banyoles has been estimated. Lake Banyoles is a small karstic Mediterranean lake (42°07′ N, 2°45′ E, mean depth 14.8 m, surface area 1.12 km2). For the different fluxes (shortwave and longwave radiation, sensible and latent heat transfer) various formulae have been analyzed and have been related to routine measured meteorological data: solar radiation, net atmospheric radiation, air temperature, relative humidity and wind velocity.
