Abstract
The occurrence of Almora magnesite and its mineralogy, sintering characteristics, crystal growth and phase changed at elevated temperatures are described. The refractory properties of the magnesite as received as well as suitable methods of improving its properties has been dealt with. It is concluded that Almora magnesite could be utilised for steel plant refractories, if it is properly processed.
