GLI SCINCIDI DELLA SOMALIA (REPTILIA, SQUAMATA)

RIASSUNTO

Per la Somalia sono note finora 19 specie di Scincidi, delle quali una (Chalcides ocellatus) paleartica (sensu WALLACE 1876), 9 etiopiche (Mabuya brevicollis, M. maculilabris, M. planifrons, M. quinquetaeniata, M. striata, M. varia, Mochlus afer, M. sundevallii, Ablepharus wahlbergii), 8 endemiche, ma strettamente affini a forme etiopiche Mabuya hemmingi, M. hildebrandtii, Riopa mabuiiformis, R. producta, R. tanae, Mochlus grandisonianus, M. laeviceps, M. vinciguerrae), e una (Ablepharus boutonii) propria delle Sottoregioni Est-Africana e Malgascia e della Regione Australiana.

Viene descritto il Mochlus laeviceps paedocarinatus subsp. nova della Somalia settentrionale (Haud).

SUMMARY

A short revision of the Scincidae from Somalia. Nineteen species are so far hnown from this territory; one of them (Chalcides ocellatus) is palaearctic (sensu WALLACE 1876), 9 are Ethiopie '(Mabuya brevicollis, M. maculilabris, M. planifrons, M. quinquetaeniata, M. striata, M. varia, Mochlus afer, M. sundevallii, Ablepharus wahlbergii), 8 are endemic, but closely related with Ethiopian species (Mabuya hemmingi, M. hildebrandtii, Riopa mabuiiformis, R. producta, R. tanae, Mochlus grandisonianus, M. laeviceps, M. vinciguerrae), and one lives in the East Africa and Malgasy Sub-regions and in the Australian Region.

Mochlus laeviceps paedocarinatus subsp. nova from North Somalia (Haud) is described.
