SUMMARY
In this paper 67 species of orthopterans living on sorghum, maize and rice in a territory of the Somali Democratic Republic including lower Uebi Scebelle and upper Jubba are recorded. Among them, about 14 are really dangerous at present and more or less polyphagous; the others are potentially dangerous, and 13 are recorded for the first time in Somalian territory. All need accurate biological investigation.

Nel presente lavoro gli Autori rendono note 67 specie di Ortotteri legati a sorgo, mais e riso in un territorio della Repubblica Democratica Somala includente il basso Uebi Scebeli e l'alto Giuba. Di queste, circa 14 sono realmente dannose nel presente momento e sono più o meno polifaghe; le altre sono potenzialmente dannose, e 13 sono per la prima volta rinvenute nel territorio somalo. Tutte abbisognano di una accurata indagine biologica.
