ROOT DISTORTION OF YOUNG PINUS PATULA TREES AT CATHEDRAL PEAK

Summary

The failure of young Pinus patula trees at Cathedral Peak due to root distortion is described. The damage caused to young trees is believed to be due to wind action. Methods by which the damage may possibly be avoided are suggested.

Die mislukking van jong Pinus patula op stande te Cathedral Peak as gevolg van wortel verdraaing word beskryf. Die skade aan jong boompies is skynbaar veroorsaak deur die uitwerking van wind. Metode wat die skade moantlik sal verhoed, word voorgestel.
