Abstract
The Colombian growth experience is often cited by Inward Industrialisation pundits to justify this strategy's relevance for the South African economy. The purpose of this article is to consider the Colombian case and unearth what happened. Important lessons can be extracted from this study and are intended to provide the focus for future research.
