Abstract
Domestic tourism in South Africa has been greatly affected by the policy of apartheid. The demise of this policy will inevitably lead to the restructuring of domestic tourism. It is hoped that an increasing number of black South Africans will engage in tourism, and for this to happen there must be participatory planning. The administrative structures of the industry will have to be representative of all racial groups. Tourism planning will have to be geared to the satisfaction of the needs of all tourists regardless of colour, race, creed and sex.
