Abstract
A vacuum tube oscillator can be made to give uniform pulses by proper adjustment of the circuit parameters. Extensive use of such sort of pulse derivation is often found in low power longer wave radar equipment using triode tubes. Unless properly designed there is a danger in such a self-pulsed oscillator of suddenly changing from pulsed operation to continuous operation. The criteria for ensuring pulsed operation of such oscillators in general have been established, discussed and found to agree well with experimental results.
