Equivalent Series and Parallel Communication Circuits

Abstract

The paper discusses the following circuits with derivation of the relevant formulae:

Cases 1 and 2—R and L in series and its equivalent parallel circuit.

Cases 3 and 4—R and C in series and its equivalent parallel circuit.

As an important application of cases 3 and 4, the circuit of a practical condenser, with a Small resistance in series or a large resistance in parallel, has been discussed in full.

Finally, a typical example is given of reducing a complex network to a single series or parallel equivalent circuit.
