The Design of Primary and Secondary Radar I.F. Amplifiers

Pages 102-111 | Published online: 21 Aug 2015

Abstract

The practical designs of circuitry in primary and secondary radar I.F. amplifiers are considered in detail. They consist of tuned band pass amplifiers with midfrequencies in the range of 30–60 mc./sec. Gains normally required are from 100 to 125 db. and the fractional bandwidths vary from 0·1 to 0·5. In these designs, bandwidth is always measured at 3 db. below peak response.
