Fourier Analysis by a General Purpose Electronic Analogue Computer

Pages 130-136 | Published online: 21 Aug 2015

Abstract

Fourier analysis can be carried out on a general purpose electronic analogue computer (differential analyser) which has the operational units necessary for carrying out function generation, multiplication and integration. The paper describes a modified method of carrying out Fourier analysis which avoids the necessity of changing the frequency of the sinusoidal function which has to be generated on the computer. The errors to which the method is subject are analysed.
