Abstract
The paper describes a simple graphical method for constructing the power distribution diagrams for horizontal dipole arrays. Theoretical considerations underlying the method have been discussed starting with the directional characteristics of these arrays. Charts showing the constant value contours in db. for the horizontal directivity factor for H1/-, H2/- and H4/- types have been presented which are of immediate practical use. For any particular array, the contours of the vertical directivity factor can be derived from its vertical directivity diagram. It has been shown that if both these sets of contours are superimposed, the power distribution diagram can be obtained by simply joining their appropriate points of intersection. In this way the work of constructing power distribution diagrams for any array of these types is considerably simplified.
