Wiener Optimization of Linear Control Systems

Abstract

This paper describes an investigation into the optimization of a linear control system, with a power constraint and with a random input. Newton's modification of the well-known Wiener-Kolmogoroff theory is applied to calculate the optimum controller and minimum mean square error in a particular case. An account is given of an experimental simulation of the optimum system on an electronic analogue computer.
