A Transistorized D.C. Servoamplifier with High Gain

Pages 179-186 | Published online: 21 Aug 2015

ABSTRACT

Fast response servo-operated instruments often call for a need of a high gain servoamplifier. Though the choice of the type of the amplifier often depends upon quite a number of factors such as the availability of power supply, the performance specifications of the control instrument, etc., from the point of view of economy, simplicity and size, d.c. servoamplifier becomes the obvious choice in many cases.

The problem of zero drift of d.c. servoamplifiers can be partially solved by the use of balanced stages which have the additional advantage of providing paraphase output required to feed d.c. servomotors. A general procedure for the design of a temperature compensated high gain servoamplifier incorporating a new method of cross-coupled diode feedback is discussed and the results obtained with a typical high gain servoamplfier are presented.
