ABSTRACT
A cavity suitable for double gap interaction in klystrons is described. The cold test model is resonant at about 3000 Mc/s. with unloaded Q of the order of 1400. It has been established experimentally that the instantaneous electric field in the two gaps is of equal magnitude and opposite direction as required by the theory of double gap bunching. Suitable design of a reflex klystron incorporating this cavity with the object of improving the efficiency is also proposed.
