ABSTRACT

Techniques have been developed for making waveguide components by electroforming. Straight pieces of waveguides, E and H tees, hybrid tees, bends, etc., have been successfully electroformed for the X-band by electrodepositing copper on suitable formers in a copper-sulphate bath. Permanent formers of stainless steel, hard steel and disposable formers of aluminium and plastics have been used. The dimensions and surface finish of these components are within the specified tolerances.
