ABSTRACT
Results of a study of the frequency variation of absorption calculated theoretically by appropriate magneto-ionic formulae, using experimental N-h models of the lower ionosphere and collision frequency distribution, are presented. The variation of the total absorption 2∫K.dh with frequency follows the relation
with values of m much lower than 2, for all the models considered. The low value of m is attributed to the significant contribution of the deviative absorption to the total absorption.
