ABSTRACT

The design of a portable electronic equipment for non-destructive testing of concrete by ultrasonic wave propagation is described. The design is around semiconductors produced in the country. Only the CRT and a helical potentiometer are of imported type. The vacuum tubes and the thyratron (three in all) in the final stages of the unit, could be substituted by their semiconductor mates as and when they are manufactured in the country. The equipment designed is reliable in operation and stable in technical performance.
