ABSTRACT
Results of the theoretical investigation on the electromagnetic power carrying capacity, within limits of electrical breakdown, of anisotropic, circular, cylindrical dielectric rod waveguide excited in TE01 and TM01 surface wave modes at 3·2 cm. wavelength are presented. Based on an earlier work1 by the author, power flow equations have been formulated for both inside and outside the waveguide. Numerical calculations of the power flow as a function of the diameter (d) and the dielectric constant (ϵ1) of the guide have been completed and the results are shown graphically. Maximum power handling capacity of such guides have also been studied.
