ABSTRACT
A 5 kW. coaxial triode has been developed which is suitable for use in rf heating units and broadcasting. The coaxial terminal structure chosen for the tube meets the various requirements for high frequency operation and improves the overall performance of the tube.
All the fabrication techniques like brazing, glass-to-metal sealing, carburization of thoriated tungsten cathodes, etc., have been developed. The assembly techniques have been greatly simplified. All these techniques are briefly described here.
