Coupling Coefficient and Excitation Impedance for a Plasma Column Excited by a Ring Source

ABSTRACT

Coupling coefficient and the impedance involved in the excitation of isotropic plasma columns by a ring of magnetic current placed outside the plasma are discussed. It is noted that both of these parameters decrease rapidly as the conditions for surface wave resonance on the plasma column are approached.
