ABSTRACT

The paper deals with some further studies carried out on field intensity recordings of Radio Tashkent on 164 kc/s., made in the Research Department, All India Radio, during the period 1966–67. From the sunset effect on longwave propagation, it has been possible to find the value of α, the recombination coefficient. It has also been possible to find α from various SILs (sudden increase in longwave field intensity) during solar flares at different timings.

An attempt has also been made to establish an approximate formula explaining the variations of absorption of longwave signal during the day.
