On Measurement of Dielectric Constant at Microwave Frequencies

Abstract

This paper describes a measurement technique for the determination of dielectric constant at microwave frequencies. The working formulae are deduced. Using the experimental data, calculations on one sample are shown. The method is suited particularly for thin and low-loss materials. It is also advantageous as the shift in minima of the standing wave in this case is large compared to that of ‘Reflection technique’^1,4.
