Abstract

This paper describes some of the units which have been fabricated to extend the utility of a repetitive electronic differential analyser by facilitating iterated solutions of differential equations. The units are designed to work with transistorized operational amplifiers developed in the Department of Electrical Communication Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, but it may also be used with vacuum tube operational amplifiers with certain voltage restrictions. The units employ entirely indigenous components and active devices, and as at present, they are capable of varying two parameters of the equation successively. A three dimensional perspective display enables the human observer to search for an optimum set of parameters. The operation of the equipment has been checked by the solution of a second order differential equation in which the coefficients have been varied.
