Abstract
This paper describes a new principle of generation of sawtooth, using linear discharge of a capacitance. This method can be used to generate sawtooth waveforms of durations of the order of 5–10 sec. to smaller durations of the order of 50 μsec. with less than 2 per cent non-linearity. The higher frequency limit can be extended with a few modifications. This method elimimates some of the drawbacks of Bootstrap and Miller Sweep generators.
